Hatzilu Rescue Walkathon
For many years, Temple Beth Torah in Westbury has sponsored a Walkathon to benefit the Hatzilu Rescue Organization. We are very grateful that TBT has been such a good friend to Hatzilu.
Over the years Hatzilu has invited other synagogues to participate in an effort to create greater awareness of our organization and to help increase funds raised.
It’s a fun way for families in many communities to come together to do a mitzvah. The kids and teenagers who participate enjoy the walk in the park and learn something about helping those less fortunate than themselves.
There is always a raffle after the walk. Each year the raffle prizes seem to get better and better! Examples of some were Jet Blue Airline tickets, NY Mets Field Box tickets, gift certificates to local restaurants and local stores and many more. Whether winning a prize or not, everyone left that day with a “feel good” feeling.
